Face - Botulinum Toxin Injections
Botulinum toxin injections (BTX), often referred to by the product names BOTOXTM are biological toxins. Minute quantities of BotoxTM can be injected directly into facial muscles for removing certain wrinkles like forehead frown lines and crow feet around eyes among others. Effect of BotoxTM lasts for 4 to 6 months and then it can be repeated.
Botox injection is given for correcting
- Vertical frown lines between eyebrows.
- Horizontal forehead lines.
- Crows Feet at the outer corner of eyes.
- Lines at the root of the nose.

| Procedure | Multiple injections given into the muscles involved through small insulin needle. |
| How does it work | The fine wrinkles on forehead and around the eyes are expression lines. They form due to constant conscious or subconscious muscle contractions. BotoxTM when injected directly into those muscles causes them to relax by temporarily paralyzing them locally and wrinkles disappear. The effect of BotoxTM takes upto 2 weeks to appear and it wears off in 3-5 months gradually. Then the muscles become active once again and BotoxTM can be repeated |
