Q. What is fat augmentation (fat refill)?
Ans : Fat refill is nothing but filling of depressed scars more often on the face with your own fat.
Q. How long does the fat survive after injection?
Ans : Survival of injected fat depends on a lot of factors, especially the technique of fat handling and injection. Injected fat contains live fat cells which take new blood supply, survive and even grow. Up to 50 percent of fat cells may not survive. To overcome this extra amount is injected, more than what is needed. Even then frequently another sitting is required to get the desired result.
Q. What are the fat refill results?
Ans : Once the desired fullness has been obtained by one or two sittings of fat injection and result has been stable for 3 months fat can last for years. Of course it increases and decreases with weight.
Q. Where all fat refill can be done on the body?
Ans : Fat can be injected anywhere in face, buttocks, chest or anywhere else where there is a depression or irregularity. Fat injection can be done to correct liposuction irregularities also.
